des_pr_300607Writing has started on what will become the big screen adaptation of rock band The Dizzy Racers’ original concept into a Hollywood action film.   Alain DesRochers, director of  canadian movie and television mega-hits (Nitro, Nos Étés, Les Bougons) will lead the way as producer/director while Dizzy Racers creator J.F. Gagnon will write the storyline, which will subsenquently be transformed into a script by a Hollywood screenwriter.

“In all the scripts I’ve been presented since the release of Nitro, The Dizzy Racers movie project is by far one of the most original, promessing and likely to be produced by a Hollywood studio” says DesRochers, adding “This will definitly not be a musical, but a real action film, with great car chases and fascinating characters.   But mostly, even if the intrigue takes place in the sixties, it’s dead-on relevant with today’s international events.”

Dizzy Racers creator, J.F. Gagnon: “The music is really the tip of the iceberg.   The plot of the Dizzy Racers movie is much more complex and deep.   I can guaranty it will keep the audience at the edge of their seats.

The rights to a remake of DesRocher’s 2007  hit movie Nitro have been recently bought by Hollywood producer Gale Anne Hurd who produced such american classics as The Terminator, Aliens, Armageddon, The Abyss and many more.   (Clic to go back to The Dizzy Racers NEWS)

Rumours are never far from reality and although nothing has been confirmed, ex-motorbike champion and future Hall-Of-Famer Alan Labrosse, now manager of such talented race drivers as Alexandre Tagliani and Andrew Ranger as well as being the proud new owner of Autodrome St-Eustache in Canada, would already be working with project creator J.F. Gagnon and Racing events tour manager Mark-Erik Fortin in upgrading the show for the Racers’ World championship Tour, in 2009.

Joining the team would also be St-Eustache’s general manager Jack Gramas who would act as technical supervisor.

The World Championship Tour will be a series of concerts given in motorsports events in which the entertainment will be on stage as well as directly on the racing track, with car chases and action stunts “à la Frontier Town“, the famous Adirondak theme park now closed since 1998, that awed families for decades as it recreated the American far west era, with cowboys, indians and horses recenacting life as it was back in the 1800’s.
